Eat, Lincoln

Cafe La Vie

Just at the point in the summer when I was starting to get really nihilistic, free dance camp appeared, like a dream. I told no one about it, not really believing it could be true. But sure enough, this morning I dropped the girls off at Action Dance in the Nalley Valley. Not only was it really a free camp, but the owner did not appear to be an axe murderer and the classrooms are really nice.

Nhu Thuy

Imagine how cool it would be if there were a whole neighborhood in Tacoma where all the businesses were open on Sunday, and everyone came out and walked around and shopped and ate and socialized all day. Wait a minute, there is!

Vien Dong (82 Good Days in Tacoma: Mo Pho)

Sorry. Could not resist. Before our trip to Terry's Berries yesterday, my friend and Lincoln District resident took us out to lunch at Vien Dong, a popular Vietnamese place on 38th.

Than's Garden (263 Good Days in Tacoma: Lunch in Tacoma's International District)

A short drive up the hill from downtown or down 38th from the Mall, takes you to a part of Tacoma where the Vietnamese signs outnumber the English ones. Today, after a few chores near the Tacoma Mall, we made our way to that part of town for a lunch adventure.

International BBQ House/Mandarin Palace (305 Good Days in Tacoma)

Yesterday, I followed my obsession with spicy red bean paste, to a little spot out in South Tacoma.

This place has many names on its sign, but the name on my credit card slip was "International BBQ House." It's a small place, on Pacific (and 65th) that serves Korean and Chinese dishes.
