Proctor loves chocolate at Metropolitan Market

You may call it pandering, but this is well worth meandering: Starting Wednesday this neighborhood supermarket tempts Tacoma chocolate lovers for five blissful days, but Sunday Oct. 11 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., it’s downright cocoa loco!

Flipping Out

Flipping Out provides a great alternative to corporate fast food joints: great burgers, friendly service and free ice cream for the kids. Other bonuses include fresh ground beef and natural cut French fries.

Silk Thai (72 Good Days in Tacoma: Great Thai in the North End)

Silk Thai has been our favorite neighborhood Thai restaurant since we moved to Tacoma. They serve consistently great food out of a surprisingly nice spot in a strip mall on 6th Avenue.

Babblin' Babs Bistro (78 Good Days in Tacoma: Shelter from the Storm at Babs)

Walking down Proctor yesterday, I watched a crow try to take off in the wind storm. I've never seen a crow look scared before, but as he hovered 3 feet in the air and beat his wings, once, twice, three times, four times, then finally on the fifth try got some forward momentum everything about him just screamed "what the...?"

La Fondita (99 Good Days in Tacoma)

Proctor's little hole in the wall Mexican restaurant recently expanded into the space next door and is looking really good these days. It's always been a cute place, but the homey terra cotta red walls and Frida Kahlo/Diego Rivera artwork really make the place feel special.

Joy Teriyaki (102 Good Days in Tacoma)

OK, writing about Teriyaki in Tacoma is kind of like writing about the rain. But, like the rain, there's a lot to be said for it, and I'm feeling a lot like Sarah of How to be Tacoman this week, there's just not been much time for play.

Del Brocco's (274 Good Days in Tacoma: Real East Coast Pizza, Cheese Steaks and Delivery, too!)

Well, I've talked about this place before but not in the "official" good days blog. We were home all day hosting a house full of young ones for a crazed sugar-filled, Easter/birthday party. I'm a little under-prepared to write today, and enjoying a little of this, courtesy of my husband:

Cavanaugh's Coffee (299 Good Days in Tacoma)

Last week, when I was hanging out with Tacomachickadee she mentioned this new-fangled technology called "wifi," whereby people can actually leave their homes and use their laptops at various places around town.
