Sprayground and Wading Pools, Updated for 2010!

I know it's super late, but here's the Sprayground/Wading Pool map all updated for 2010.

The Wright Park sprayground is a work in progress, and Franklin's update should take place this year. Hopefully, a new sprayground will open there next fall and there won't be any gap between wading pool removal and sprayground installation as there was at Wright.

Gas Station Park (Mystery Park at S 48th and Park Avenue)

Update: The official name is "Gas Station Park" - more on this later.

OK, it's not really a mystery park, but that's what it seemed like when we ran into this bright blue cookie-moster colored park yesterday. Turns out, it was converted from an old gas station through the Health Department's "Brownfields" project and is now being transformed into a playground by the South End Neighborhood Council.

Celebration Park (85 Good Days in Tacoma: Celebrate a New Playground)

Rain shmain I say. OK, I tried to say that, but at one point during today's visit to Celebration Park we did have to high-tail it to the car. We still got to spend about 45 minutes enjoying the new tot lot recently installed there, at S 80th and D streets.

Oak Tree Park (116 Good Days in Tacoma)

End of Summer berry update: Tacoma's parks are still full of blackberries, although they are just starting to turn too mushy. Get them now before they all go to waste, even the birds can't seem to keep up with them. Blueberry Park still has great pickings, as well.
