Wendy's II (232 Good Days in Tacoma)
This place has been recommended by so many people, I'm probably the last person in Tacoma to try it. But, just in case you haven't, Wendy's II on Tacoma Mall Blvd serves up wonderful Vietnamese food, in a very friendly atmosphere.
The littlest and I had a quick lunch there today, bubble tea and beef with broccoli. I'm normally a spicy lemongrass chicken kind of girl, but when sharing with my youngest I have to be a little more restrained. The menu offers a lot that you'd expect to find at a Chinese restaurant, (like chow fun and chow mein) but the preparation was definitely Vietnamese. And tasty. No greasy or sugary sauces, just simple flavors and vegetables cooked to just the right texture.
Word has it this place is great with kids and I did not test it with my more challenging child, but the young one and I had a nice meal. My only complaint is that the servers seemed to have a lot of difficulty ringing up the small number of orders they had before noon on a Tuesday, and it makes me wonder if they run slow during busy times. They seem like a family-run place though, so a little variation in service is no big deal. I'd definitely choose it again in the future over some of the big chain places by the mall.
They have lots of vegetarian options, too!

I love this place, especially the bubble tea! Fresh, healthy meals. They are also in freighthouse square, which is a better choice for dinner. The one Tacoma Mall Blvd. serves dinner family style, which makes it more expensive.
