Vassault Park (251 Good Days in Tacoma)
This afternoon the local rain gods smiled upon us and gave us just enough dry time to enjoy the first T-ball practice of the season at Vassault Park.
We've never visited this park before, and we've really been missing a great spot. Vassault is huge, with several play fields, a big grassy area large enough for a sizable community event, and a very nice playground with a wood chip surface. (Sand is bad news on muddy days like today.)
The completely open layout of the park made it possible for us to watch our six year old play but still see our little one running around on the playground up a rise at the other end of the field.
Words are escaping me tonight, so I'm going to let the pictures do the talking. It's a beautiful park, with lots of room to run, play, climb a tree, speculate on what would happen if the trees had eyeballs (2 out of 3 four year olds agree, that's a hilarious topic of conversation) or just lie around looking at the clouds.
Edited to add: This is also a fantastic place to fly a kite.
