UPDATE: Tacoma Power Expects Power to be Restored by 1 a.m.

UPDATE 3: Tacoma Power anticipates restoring power to all customers by 1 a.m. About 2,600 homes in Ohop area still out.

UPDATE 2: 3,000 Tacoma Power customers without power in south Pierce County.

UPDATE 1: Tacoma Power has restored power to 7,600 customers in south Pierce County and will continue to work on restoring power to the remaining 15,500 customers who are out.

A problem with one of Tacoma Power’s Canyon/LaGrande transmission line means that more than 24,000 customers do not have power right now. Most of the affected customers are in the southern part of Pierce County.

The utility has not yet identified the cause of the outage, but has sent two tree crews and four power line crews out to investigate and restore power as soon as possible.

Customers who do not have power should call (253) 502-8602 to report the outage.
