Taqueria Las Torres Brings Good Cheap Food to 6th Ave

$2.99 for a burrito, $4.50 for a huge taco plate with rice and beans (pictured).  

Finally, another recession-friendly restaurant on 6th Ave.  I use the term restaurant loosely, of course, since Taqueria Las Torres is actually a taco truck using an old check cashing storefront for indoor seating.  The day I ate there last week, nobody seemed to mind the decor.  

Although the line snaked across the parking lot, I only had to wait a few minutes for my take out.  I love my neighborhood, but I usually can't afford to eat here (Unless I catch some kid-free time to go to the Red Hot) it's about time we got some under $10 options other than Jack in the Box or Taco Bell.

How's the food?  Good!  Your basic taco truck tacos (that is to say, soft corn tortillas with choice of meat, cilantro & onions).  The beans were not that great but for $4.50 I really can't complain.  

I haven't tried it with the kids yet, but it's definitely not the kind of place I'd feel uncomfortable taking them.  Anybody know their hours?  Please comment if you do.
