A Stay at the Rowland Building, Valentine's Day is Still Available!

A long time ago, at a chalk off far far away, James Stowe won a night at one of Laura Hanan's ultra chic condos in the Rowland Building, and passed on his winnings to me. Many many failed attempts later, I finally lined up sleepovers for both kids and had a chance to spend the night. Naturally, I packed up the camera and forgot to pack the batteries, but you can check out great pictures at Laura's Vacation Rental By Owner listing.

It's a beautiful condo with an excellent location, right next to Merende and Paddy Coyne's, and within a block or two of some of the best bars and restaurants in Tacoma. We were in the mood to keep it simple, so we enjoyed a nice dinner and a few drinks at Paddy Coyne's, where the people watching is almost as good as the food. Back at the condo, we enjoyed the complimentary bottle of wine and chocolates and settled in for the night.

My only regret...other than maybe a little too much wine...was not having a little longer to spend. (Laura offered us another night, but mama duty called.) The place comes equipped with everything you'd need to stay for a week or longer: a spotless kitchen stocked with coffee, a washer and dryer, and an amazingly comfortable bed. The walls are lined with original artwork, both Hanan's and other pieces from her Brick and Mortar gallery, which is downstairs.

If you're looking for a night out without going too far away, (I'm sorry Ensie - I'm going to say it - a "staycation") or a place for out of town guests to stay for a week, I highly recommend it. Valentine's Day is still available!
