Pho Linh is My Dining Room
That's what it feels like, sometimes. Littlest enables my Vietnamese food obsession by requesting "the place with the grape soda" at least once a week, and off we go.
Pho Linh is a little spot in the Westgate shopping center, just off 30th and Pearl. More than just kid-friendly, the owner's kid is frequently there eating his own lunch when we stop in. Pho Linh has all your basic soup options plus some really great rice noodle dishes like the one pictured above, for less than $6. Vietnamese food is very healthy, fresh, simple, fast, and usually cheap. (Oh, and gluten free, if you stay away from fried stuff.)
I especially liked the marinated grilled pork in this dish, in combination with chopped peanuts, fresh herbs, and finely chopped lettuce. Drizzle on a little of the sweet sauce that comes on the side, and it's just about perfect.
This time, we splurged on a meal for both of us, but typically littlest just shares with me or her sister, and there's always plenty to go around.

Having never had the courage to try Pho restaurants before, I tried Minji's last week. You're right, it's wonderful. I just passed the Pho Linh sign over the weekend and wondered if *it* was any good. :) I'll be going there tomorrow.

I have not tried them yet, with Pho Linh so cheap I always go that route. I've heard mixed things about them.

This place *IS* great! If you go there in the evening a young man, the owner's older son, may be your waiter. He is one of the most upbeat, witty kiddos I've ever come across.
Their seafood and tofu pho soups are also delish, but that pork, oh my! My friends were also impressed by their fruity Fanta soda offerings.
