People's Park (219 Good Days in Tacoma)

All of our plans were a bust today, so we made a windy stop to play at People's Park, on S 11th, between MLK and L streets.

People's Park has a small but well-equipped play structure, with lots of bells and whistles like built in walkie talkies, a gizmo you can look through and spy someone down and around the corner, and a piano type thing that sounds as though it needs to have the wood chips dug out of its works.

It's only got baby swings, but there are some great little hills for rolling down and picking the buttercups and daisies that are sprouting all over the well-tended grass. There's also a nice broad but shallow amphitheater, some public art to look at, and a cool old bus stop.

The only downside is the lack of a bathroom, which cut our trip short.
