MultiCare will host last Tacoma Farmers Market of the season near Wright Park
A special late-season edition of the Tacoma Farmers Market will sprout near Wright Park, just in time for Thanksgiving.
Fill your cornucopia from noon to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18, at South Fourth and I streets, in a quarter-acre lot at MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital.
MultiCare Health System and the Tacoma Farmers Market partnered to bring the community one last farmers market this fall. Fifteen vendors will offer local produce, fresh meats, tasty cheeses, dried flowers and more. Without leaving the neighborhood, get ready to impress dinner guests with an abundant harvest from local farms.
For shoppers without a functional horn of plenty, MultiCare will give away reusable grocery bags to shoppers who buy $20 in market tokens.
“The holiday farmers market is a wonderful way for MultiCare Health System to provide access to healthful foods for both our employees and community,” said Taryn West, Healthy@Work wellness coordinator at the MultiCare Center for Healthy Living.
“Partnering with the Tacoma Farmers Market enables us to support local farmers, especially during the off-season," she said. "Nationally, many hospitals are now offering onsite farmers markets as a way to support their employees and community members in eating healthful, locally grown foods. Offering a market onsite is a huge convenience for many busy employees at the hospital.”
Live musicians will warm the air with bluegrass and folk tunes. Featured vendors are Rolf’s Choice, Willapa Hills, Blue Rose Dairy, Harbor Herbalist, Amy’s Decadent Chocolates, Sisters Boutique, Gageby Farms, Oak Ridge, Tahoma Farms, Ia’s Gardens, Sidhu Farms, Dr. Terry’s Pies, Heavenly Honey, Ambergardens and The Last Bite.
