Jane Clark Park (154 Good Days in Tacoma)
(Every Summer Playground Program park has a rubber chicken. I don't know why.)
After we got back from Portland Avenue Park last night, a friend called wanting to meet up at the Jane Clark Park wading pool. We weren't really planning on a double header, but the kids were still suited up, and Jane Clark was the only park in the playground program we hadn't covered yet.
This is a North end park, with equipment of about the same age as Portland Avenue. The play structure is a bit bigger, though, and there are swings. (Both big kid style and baby swings.) There are also some nice big open fields for running around. Like Portland Avenue, there isn't all that much shade to be had. Although it's part of the playground program, Jane Clark Park is not a free lunch site, so bring your own food.
There's nothing spectacular about this nice neighborhood park, but it's a pleasant place to spend an afternoon while the kids splash in the pool.
