Indoor Swimming in and Around Tacoma

With Fall here local swimming options are drastically reduced, but it's still possible to catch a quick swim with the family 7 days a week if you know where to look.

Although Tacoma only has one indoor "beach entry" pool really geared toward small children (and that is all the way out in deepest Northeast Tacoma) a quick drive to Federal Way provides a lot more options, including the Federal Way Community Center leisure pool (Tacomamama tested and approved) and the King County Aquatic Center. (Which I hear is similar.)  More plentiful swimming options are available if you don't mind using the shallow end of a conventional athletic pool.

Swimming schedules can be frustratingly complex to remember, so to help you keep it all straight I've created a calendar of open and family swim options.  All of these are open to the public on a drop in basis, no membership required.  Please always call first to verify availability before suiting up the kids and promising them a swim.  Schedules may change without notice.
