Getting Ready for First Night, Tonight!

We're charging up the camera, swigging caffeinated soda and getting ready to head downtown for the biggest event of the year: First Night!

Our first year in Tacoma we had an amazing time at First Night 2005. I've been volunteering with the organization since 2007, and it has been so amazing to see our New Year's Eve festival roar back to life.

I've been taking my kids since they were 3 and 1, and somehow we always make it to midnight. This year, we're planning on taking in (or on?)

The Tacoma Art Museum
Museum of Glass
Children's Museum of Tacoma
First Night Procession (with 15 foot illuminated tiger!)
Korean Dancing & Drummig
The Tacoma Urban Orchestra
A festival of short films
Deborah Page
The lighting of the dream trees, fire clock, and general midnight madness at the main stage, with a special performance by a super group of Tacoma band members.

All that for only $30 per family! ($10 per individual, kids 7 and under free).

Hope to see you there!
