Getting to know you...
Hi everyone!
We have lived in Tacoma for almost a year now and we really love it here - would love to get to know all of you and so I am hoping to use this thread to help me! I will start...
I am Tara, a mom to a little boy who is 3.5 years old, we are originally from Canada and I work in human resources PT from home. My husband is a computer geek and works in Auburn.
Loves: etsy, knitting, the arts and my little family
Dislikes: mean people, bad odors and men who wear too much cologne
Looking for: like-minded people who don't take themselves too seriously!

The site still gets plenty of traffic, and lots of new posts about stuff to do, but most people use Facebook for forum-like chatting these days. I've never been able to get people to use these forums much, but I leave them here because people seem to use them when they're new in town and looking for advice.

preschool age soccer?
I've just started looking into soccer for my son who won't be 4 until August and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on programs that have soccer teams in north Tacoma. Looks like Metro Parks starts at 5. Any other suggestions?

The Morgan branch of the Y has a mini soccer league for three year olds:

Hi Tara! Tacoma can be awesome!! I wish there was more sunshine....but other then that its a pretty good place!
I live in North Tacoma....raising four kids on my own. 2 girls (13 & 9) & 2 boys (3 & 4)....so you can imagine I'm a little bit crazy!
I was born in Tacoma....moved around a lot & returned when I was 16. Havent left since!
I've had many careers in my life. Currently I'm a hairstylist & work for myself in a little shop in the 6th Ave Business District & also sell Mary Kay.
I dont have much of a life outside of work & family!! But I'm sure I'll get one again when the kids are a bit older! At least, I hope so!
I just joined this site today & hope to get to know some more of the people on here!
