Engine House Number 9

My fellow Tacomans, I am tired, tired of the snow, I say.

We went to Engine House Number 9 for lunch today, we ate many many fried things, I feel better.
We've had some interesting service there in the past, but today they seemed to accept their role as emergency provider of comfort food therapy and kept things moving along pretty well. The kids colored and ate popcorn like crazed little monkeys while we waited.

It's not my favorite place usually, but it was more than wonderful today.

If not for the fact that I had to go home and attend to the childrens all afternoon, I would have had their Belgian White or their red ale, both of which rock my socks.

Edited to add:

Menu consists of pizza, burgers, steak, bbq sandwiches and excellent beer brewed on site. Service can be uneven, but a great neighborhood spot and generally kid-friendly during the day. Setting in an old firehouse with horse stalls and a coin-op popcorn machine keep the kids busy while they wait. Prices are very reasonable, some of the best on that part of 6th Ave, which is becoming a bit spendy.
