Cutters Point (44 Good Days in Tacoma)

Today's plan was to take the shiny new laptop to Rhapsody in Bloom, thus obsessing with my new toy, and coming up with a blog entry at the same time. Unfortunately, the very nice person who runs Rhapsody informed me that their wifi connection had just gone down, and everywhere in the neighborhood usually went down with her.
What to do? At this point in the "Good Days" project I'm running a little low on fresh coffee spots. Fortunately, Cutters Point was just a short drive down 6th Ave and their wifi seemed to be up and running.
Admittedly, Cutters Point is a bit corporate. But, it's a locally-born, Gig Harbor-based company that does seem to welcome local groups and events in their stores. (Especially the downtown location, which hosts Coffee and Rhetoric) Aside from a few far-flung stores, they're still Washington-centric. The coffee's good, too.
I love the comfy couches they seem to have in every store, the faux fireplaces that are cozy on a cold day, and the super-cheap kid specials with whipped cream and sprinkles. I confess there was a time last year when the drive through at this particular location did call to me 3 or 4 times a week. You know, for the kids. ;)
Does anyone know if they offer Fair Trade coffee? I didn't see it mentioned on the website.
Slightly more exciting things coming, I promise! These last few weeks with holiday breaks and sick kids have been a bit sparse. We'll be attending a few events and getting out more in the coming weeks.

I go to this location almost everyday Mon-Fri on my way to work. They are GREAT. They are happy, friendly and always nice. They know me by name by this point and I just wanted to give them a Kudos for their service.
