Coconut Thai (113 Good Days in Tacoma)
(Hungry? Here's their Takeout Menu)
We had time to kill this Sunday between the "Are you curious?..." sale
and "Pierce County's Biggest Baby Shower,"
so we stopped into Coconut Thai for a leisurely lunch before braving Baby's R Us for formula and diapers.
This was our third time at Coconut Thai, and we've found it to be consistently good Thai food with some interesting options, like the "Meatball Noodle Soup" my eldest ordered which "tasted like heaven," according to her. I don't really know, since I was too busy working on the chicken satay and Pud Kee Mao.
Coconut Thai has never been very crowded when we've stopped in for lunch or early dinner, although I do get the sense it fills up later on in the evening. This Sunday, we had the place completely to ourselves. Situated in a rather bleak section of S 38th by Outback Steakhouse and the Goodwill, it's surprising to see such a nice looking interior and extensive menu. The kids like to go up and watch the fish in the large tank in the entryway while we wait for our food to be ready.
Their lobby also has some nice places to sit while you wait for a take out order. (Did I mention their menu is online?)
