A Celebratory Lunch At Stadium Bistro

Tacomamama is going to be on Evening Magazine. Sometime this week, hopefully! Just in case some mysterious technical problem keeps the interview in the Tacoma-warp wherever the web version of the KOMO interview went, we have photographic proof the camera crew was here:

Today was really surreal. I didn't even really feel like checking my email this morning, so it was a bit of a shock to open it up and find an email from KOMO, then an email from KING, in response to a little post on Citizen Rain last night. So, after a quick radio interview on KOMO 1000, I had to psych myself up for a television interview for Evening Magazine. Step 1: Call up Courtenay for makeup assistance "this is a lipstick emergency!" Step 2: Freak Out. Step 3: Clean 3 holidays worth of decorations off front porch. Step 4: Burn popcorn AND potpourri, leading to very interesting toasty sort of back of a movie theater candy counter smell.

OK, having prepared and shipped the youngest off to school with Courtenay, I managed to get through the interview, and the 20 minutes of background film of me typing. There was a brief lull while we shooed one of my cats off the table, as she had taken that moment to engage in some rather personal grooming right in the middle of the shot.

After walking off into the sunset three or four times from different angles, Jason and I decided we had to go out and celebrate with lunch at Stadium Bistro. He had the most amazing-looking patty melt:

and I had the very tasty and gluten-free (the chef is very open to special requests and different dietary needs) cassoulet.

Apparently, they were both delicious because in the end it looked like a swarm of locusts had been by the table:

I love Stadium. We walked in at about 2 minutes before lunch closed (At 2) and they were very gracious about seating us anyway and answering various questions. At the table behind us, also late to the lunch hour, someone ordered a club sandwich, not even a menu item, and received a beautiful-looking creation.

If it weren't 2 in the afternoon and I didn't have to go pick up my kids, I'd have totally taken advantage of their half off wine through the month of January deal.

I'll let you know when the show is going to air.

Also, does half off wine special at Stadium Bistro extend to bottles of wine?

I saw you on TV and just wanted to say Great Job! I enjoy writing and am always impressed when people go for it with their writing like you are doing.
And what a fun way to get to know your area!
