Career, college resources job fair set April 7

TACOMA – A dozen employers, including REI, Safeway and others, with representatives from higher education institutions will be on hand for a “Career, College and Training Resources” Job Fair set April 7, 3-5 p.m. at the REACH Center in Tacoma.

The event is free, open to the public with a focus on 16- to 24-year-old Pierce County residents and will take place from 3-5 p.m. at REACH Center, located on the first floor of Tacoma Goodwill’s Milgard Work Opportunity Center, 714 S. 27th St., Tacoma. Employers include: U.S. Customs and Border Protection, city of Tacoma, Cintas, Job Corps, WorkSource Auburn, Metro Parks, Tacoma Goodwill, Independent Electrical Contractors and Puget Sound Energy. U.S. Army and Marine Corps recruiters will also be on hand.

Educational institutions slated to attend include: UW Bothell, The Salon Professional Academy, Everest College, Commercial Diver Services, City University, Pierce College and The Evergreen State College. The Washington National Guard, WorkForce Central and Job Corps, with the REACH Center and Tacoma Goodwill, are event sponsors.

Participants are encouraged to come early, dress professionally, bring extra resumes and be prepared to be interviewed on the spot. REACH, Resources for Education And Career Help, is a separate agency from Goodwill, providing services for young adults 16-24.
