Author of Shot to Death: How and Why Karl Krogstad Makes Films
Thursday evening, December 3 @ 7 p.m.
Olympic Room, Main Library
1102 Tacoma Avenue South

Over the course of his long career, legendary Seattle film artist Karl Krogstad has produced and directed more than 65 short and feature-length films, and has been honored with 30 awards from international film festivals. “Love him or hate him, there’s no denying the artistic imperative that drives his vision of experimental cinema,” says Seattle Weekly. According to Resonance Magazine, “the 54-year-old artist is irrepressible, annoying, P.T. Barnum and a self induced maniac.” Rolling Stone Magazine described Krogstad as "one of America’s greatest independent filmmakers.”

Krogstad began his zany and insightful career as writer, director and producer in 1968 and is one of Seattle's most celebrated independent filmmakers. A talented painter, Karl Korgstad's work is on exhibit at Tacoma's Two Vaults Gallery in November and December.
Presented in partnership with The Grand Cinema and Two Vaults Gallery.
