AAUW Hot Topics
AAUW's Hot Topics will meet Wednesday, March 16, from 1-3 p.m. (join us at noon for lunch!) at Green Spot Tea and Art Gallery, 3318 Bridgeport Way W., University Place. Discussion topic: “Are we better off than our grandmothers?” Prior to the meeting, reflect on your mothers’ and grandmothers’ aging process and challenges, and then think about our own prospects for “aging well.” Compare and contrast the conveniences, services, facilities, knowledge and understanding available to us in 2011 and beyond, vs. what our mothers, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers had. In what ways are we richer? Poorer? Or maybe just different? How can we apply what we have learned to improve the conditions for older - and often single - women?
