2 year old birthday party
I am trying to figure out something to do for my son's birthday. He turns two on May 29th and I want to have a party outside of our house because it's small and I don't want to deal with the mess. Anyway, last year we went to Round Table on Pearl and that worked great. This year my concern is keeping the kids entertained without overstimulation. Round Table doesn't really have the space for a handful of wild toddlers. Weather may be a concern too considering the unpredictiveness we have to deal with around here. Any ideas? I just want something fun and enjoyable for adults too.

Congratulations mama (or papa) and good luck. The two year old crowd is tough. The YMCA on Pearl has a nice toddler gym that you can rent out for birthday parties. The kids love it and I think music/noise level is up to you. The Children's Museum is also nice for little, little kids. There are enclosed party rooms at the zoo carousel, that might be fun to check out.
I'm sure there are other places I'm forgetting...

In my experience both boys and girls love parties at Hello Cupcake - what kid doesn't love to decorate their own cupcakes? Odyssey is good as well, but may be a bit too much, especially on a weekend. We have always loved them for a rainy weekday, but held our son's second birthday there on a Sat and found it to be a bit crazy.
I second the Y as well, they have several party packages you can choose from (pool, gym etc) and you don't have to be a member.

The Children's Museum of Tacoma is a great place for a 2 year olds party! They have a couple of packages to choose from and you can add on activities, etc. They also do all of the set up and clean up, which is nice.

Another fun place is the Little Gym in Puyallup - you can host birthday parties in their space and would be good for that age group.
