Kelly Coyne and Erik Knutzen, authors of Making It: Radical Home Ec for a Post-Consumer World and The Urban Homestead: Your Guide to Self-Sufficient Living in the Heart of the City, will lead a conversation about getting down to the root of things for a happier, healthier, more homemade life.

King’s Books will be on-hand selling copies of the books. A portion of the sales goes to the University Place Library Campaign.

Food Justice: What is it? What food injustices are there in our society? What needs to be done to create a more just food system? A community conversation exploring the social, environmental, political, and economic perspectives on how our most basic need (and right) is met, ranging from international food systems to your very own backyard.

Panelists from backgrounds ranging from farming to food banks will weigh in on obstacles and successes they have experienced in their efforts to forge a just food system.
