Safe Trick-or-Treating at Tacoma Mall

Tacoma-area families are invited to come do some safe, indoor trick-or-treating sponsored by The Pacifica Apartments. Kids can grab some extra goodies, and participate in a fun Halloween-themed photo opportunity in the Macy’s Court at Tacoma Mall, while supplies last.Trick-or-treating is open to children ages 12 and under only, no toy weapons allowed, masks on children under 12 only, costumes may only be worn during event hours, trick-or-treating at participating retailers only.

Battle against sex trafficking takes center stage at Wilson High School

Teenage girls in the Greater Tacoma area experience a higher risk of being manipulated into prostitution by savvy sex traffickers than girls in other parts of the state, according to a Tacoma police officer who served on a federal task force.

Now, Shared Hope, an international organization that battles sex trafficking, will present a free short documentary film screening and follow-up discussion March 5 at Wilson High School.

Tacoma Fire Department Hosts Public Remembrance Ceremony on September 11

At 9:30 a.m. on September 11, the Tacoma Fire Department will host a public remembrance ceremony at Marine Park  at 4301 Ruston Way to mark the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy. Tacoma City Council Member Robert Thoms and Tacoma Fire Chief James P. Duggan will be present to deliver remarks.
