At tonight's Tacoma School Board study session, a majority of members seemed to indicate opposition to the idea of closing Foss High School. They asked Superintendent Jarvis to come back with other options, most likely to include an additional 1 million in administrative cuts, as well as cuts to professional development programs and class size increases.
Tonight's meeting was just a study session and no votes were cast.
No one voiced strong opposition to the idea of closing and consolidating elementary schools with low and declining enrollments.
