The Wright Park sprayground is a work in progress, and Franklin's update should take place this year. Hopefully, a new sprayground will open there next fall and there won't be any gap between wading pool removal and sprayground installation as there was at Wright.
Following an extensive review of the condition of nine of Tacoma's oldest elementary buildings, the Tacoma School Board today recommended that Washington-Hoyt's historic 1906 structure be included in the upcoming capital levy measure. The inclusion of Washington brings the total number of schools likely to be included in the ballot measure to 3, including Baker and Hunt middle schools.

Walking down Proctor yesterday, I watched a crow try to take off in the wind storm. I've never seen a crow look scared before, but as he hovered 3 feet in the air and beat his wings, once, twice, three times, four times, then finally on the fifth try got some forward momentum everything about him just screamed "what the...?"
