Tacoma Nature Center: Creatures of the Night Event

Have you met the creatures that come out after dark?  Learn all about creatures of the night as you experience a short twilight hike, activities, crafts, and a special snack.  Come early to experience everything.  Recommended for ages 3-6 and their parents or grandparents.  Reservations requested.  Please call (253) 591-6439.  $2.50 per child/$2.00 per member child, adults free

Discovery Pond Playground Opens at Nature Center

Yesterday, Tacoma's kids got their first crack at "Discovery Pond," a wonderful combination playground/nature exhibit outside the Tacoma Nature Center.

Discovery Pond
At 7 and 9, my kids still love to poke around inside the Nature Center, but they are getting a little bit old for the exhibits. Discovery Pond is the perfect addition for kids of all ages, but especially for school-aged kids who may have outgrown the smaller indoor space.
