Tacoma Power customers without power

UPDATE 3: 15,000 Tacoma Power customers at of power. More 600 something in Browns Point.

Ice on trees and branches continues to cause outages in Tacoma Power’s service area. About 7,450 customers are without power in these areas:  

UPDATE: Tacoma Power Expects Power to be Restored by 1 a.m.

UPDATE 3: Tacoma Power anticipates restoring power to all customers by 1 a.m. About 2,600 homes in Ohop area still out.

UPDATE 2: 3,000 Tacoma Power customers without power in south Pierce County.

UPDATE 1: Tacoma Power has restored power to 7,600 customers in south Pierce County and will continue to work on restoring power to the remaining 15,500 customers who are out.

Ice Cream Lady Ice Cream Truck Stolen

Laurie Meade's ice cream truck is stolen. Riding in her ice cream truck is her livelihood. Her three wheel Cushman Scooter Ice Cream Truck was stolen out of her driveway in Parkland Christmas night.

Midland Cooperative Preschool Open House

Join us for our final open house of the summer on Wednesday, September 14th from 9:30-11:00am! Meet board members and families, let your child play and get all your questions answered. We are a unique program offering a parent/toddler preschool program for children ages 1-3. Classes meet once a week for 2 hours. While your child plays and learns in the preschool room you get to have a 1 hour parent education discussion with other parents in an adjoining room! Kids can come and check in with you as much as they want, too. It's a great first learning experience for them and very supportive for parents. Head over to our website for more info. Tacoma Rainiers Turn Back Tickets

The Tacoma Rainiers, in an effort to thank the City of Tacoma and Rainiers fans all over the South Sound, are lowering prices in a big way on select dates during the team’s final homestand of the season. 

 

From Monday, August 29 through Wednesday, August 31, a new generation of Rainiers fans will pay a former generation’s price of admission. All children 12 years of age and younger can come to a Rainiers game for just 50 cents, the same price as a ticket during Cheney Stadium’s inaugural season in 1960.

Midland Cooperative Preschool (ages 1-3)

This is a great school for 1-3 year olds and parents! I took my older daughter through for the 1s and 2s class and am back for my second year with my 2 year old. This is a sweet school that is very unique. You attend once a week with your child and stay with them for the 2 hours. And! for 1 one of those hours you get to have a parent education discussion in an adjoining room. This was the best part for me as a first time mom. The kids play while you talk! They can come in and check in with you whenever they want. The preschool has been around for over 20 years and has loads of great materials including a sensory table, a big play kitchen, a reading nook, and lots of manipulatives.

Update from her family's facebook event this morning: "URGENT UPDATE!!!!! - HALEY IS HOME THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR AMAZING ONGOING SUPPORT I LOVE YOU ALL.  She had been hiding out with a friend who's mother saw the news broadcast and made her go home! Because of our proximity to 512 we have served families from Graham to Tacoma, and Bonney Lake to Parkland. Our space is bright and cheerful with loads of fantastic preschool materials including a sensory tub, reading nook, and lots of manipulatives. We are the only Bates affiliated cooperative with a 1 year old class and are very proud to offer a unique parent education component.
